Draft Code of Professional Conduct released

On 31 March the Code Committee release the draft Code of Professional Conduct for Authorised Financial Advisers and has called for submissions.
The draft code incorporates previous discussion documents on proposed minimum standards for 'ethical behaviour and client care', 'competence, knowledge and skills' and 'continuing professional training'. Click here for more information in relation to the discussion document.

The new legislation has categorised financial products into two categories (Category 1 and Category 2), and sets out which type of adviser is qualified to advise and sell. Many advisers are wondering if the products they sell or have on their books are Category 1 or Category 2 products.
